A friendly introduction to the towns of the Hells Canyon region.
The Richland, Halfway, Oxbow area, commonly called "The Baker County
Panhandle," has a rich history dating from the first farming and
mining pioneers in the late 1800's.

A great stopping off point along the Oregon Scenic Hells Canyon
By-Way and a great jumping off point to fishing from Hewitt Park.

Take the "Business Loop" from Highway 86. Tired,
hungry, need supplies or gas, or just sightseeing, this is a great
place to "sit a spell" and just relax.
- Oxbow

Collect some camping, fishing, or boating supplies, stay awhile, visit Oxbow Dam, or cross over
to the Idaho side of the Snake River to follow the private Idaho Power road to
the deepest reaches of Hells Canyon.
- Cornucopia

A wild west mining town once. Now home to camping,
backpacking, and hiking enthusiasts and the intrepid, adventure- bound
vacationer.
- Hells Canyon
Recreation Area

Awesome views, a photographers delight! This U S Forest
Service recreational area is a naturalist's or geologist's dream. Camp
in excellent parks maintained by Idaho Power.
- Pine Eagle School District
- Serves the entire area from Richland and Eagle Valley's outlying ranches, to Halfway and the Pine Valley ranches, to Oxbow and all the residents on the Oregon side of the Snake River.
