Over 250 miles of designated snowmobile trails |

The Panhandle Snowmobile Club annual poker run is held each year on Sunday during President¹s Day weekend. The next run is on February 17, 2008. The poker run of approximately 30 miles begins in Halfway, Oregon, and continues up into the Wallowa mountains north of town and ends at Twin Lakes in the Pine Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest at near 7,000 feet elevation.
Registration and drawing of the first card is from 9-12 a.m. at the Lions'
Hall in downtown Halfway. The run of 3-4 hours includes 6 stops to draw cards
and warm-up at the bonfires at each station along the route. Finishing at Twin
Lakes and turning in the punch card still leaves enough time to play around in
the deep powder of the high country and still make it back to the Lions' Hall to
check out the winning poker hands at 6 p.m. The 2008 purse of $4,000 will be split among the top five winning hands.
The Panhandle Snowmobile Club has approximately 280 miles of designated snowmobile trails with 100 to 150 miles groomed on a regular basis. We have plenty of challenging backcountry snowmobiling along with our groomed trails and open country.
