Community Development And a United Pine Valley

Formed January 1, 2001, UCP exists to promote community development in the Baker County Panhandle area while maintaining a vision for the future and providing the premier rural living experience.

In November 2004 UCP won national recognition from the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service for its outstanding accomplishments in the "Working Together for Rural America" initiative. Recognition was for UCP's spirited guidance and inclusive approach to defining a long-term strategy for community partnerships and fostering local economic growth in rural eastern Oregon. Chief among the projects recognized was the private small timber stands healthy forest management initiative for properties adjoining Wallowa-Whitman National Forest and Bureau of Land Management areas of the Pine and Eagle Creek drainage.

UCP has a long list of accomplishments in the short four-years since it was formed.
