Art work by students from around Baker County will be exhibited in the main gallery, and works created by Pine Eagle School District students will be exhibited in the Morrison Family Student Gallery downstairs. Crossroads is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.

Soil & Water Conservation Districts' Annual Meeting & Dinner

Friday, January 17, 5:30pm

Baker Elks Lodge, Baker City

The county's four water conservation districts will come together for their annual meeting and dinner. A limited number of tickets are available at $15 each, and they must be purchased in advance. The deadline for reserving tickets is Thursday, January 9. Call 541-523-7121 ext. 100 or visit the districts' offices at 3990 Midway Drive in Baker City to pick them up in person.

Family Fun Time

Everyone is invited to an old-fashioned afternoon of family fun, featuring a movie, board games, a craft, snacks, cake walk, and lots of wonderful company...as well as fresh popcorn and gallons of lemonade! Pizza Fundraiser

Sunday, February 2, 11am

Pine Eagle Primary Building Cafeteria

Pine Eagle wrestling teams will once again offer pizzas for Super Bowl Sunday as their annual fundraising effort. 12" pizzas are $12 each, and you may choose from pepperoni, Hawaiian, or supreme. Pizzas should be picked up by 11am Sunday unless other arrangements have been made. To order a pizza, contact a local wrestler, or call and leave a message at 541-742-6822. Orders must be made by January 19.

New Bridge Grange Biscuit Feed

Sunday, February 9, 12 noon to 4pm

New Bridge Grange Hall

Come eat your fill! The menu features a generous platter of biscuits and gravy, sausages, hash browns, and fruit, with tea, coffee, or juice. The cost is just $7, and children under 5 are free. Raffle tickets are also available for a beautifully hand-crafted log hall tree, just what you need this time of year to sit down and take off your boots after a day of shoveling snow! Tickets are $1 each or six for $5, and may be purchased at Shorthorn or any Grange activity. This year, the funds raised will go for needed repairs and maintenance of the Grange Hall itself.

Level I Avalanche Class

February 28 - March 1

Halfway/Clear Creek SnoPark

The Wallowa Avalanche Center will hold an AIARE motorized Level I course in the Panhandle. The course will be held in Halfway with field sessions out of the Clear Creek SnoPark. This course is specifically designed for snowmobilers and snobikers focused on decision making in the backcountry. It has a 30/70 classroom/field split and emphasizes riding time, teaching the fundamental aspects of the AIARE risk management process with respect to riding in avalance terrain. There is a six-to-one student/teacher ratio, and enrollment is limited to 12. The cost is $495. Contact info@wallowaavalancecenter.org for more information or to register.

54th Annual Halfway Lions Club Crab Feed

This annual all-you-can-eat event features delicious Dungeness crab fresh from the Oregon coast, the usual side dishes, and pitchers of Coors Light beer. Tickets are $45 each, and are available at Halfway Feed & Seed, Halfway Sober Liquor Store, and Ryder Brothers in Baker City.
